A newly built villa for eight, on the front line of one of Mallorca's most unspoilt beaches. Open the gate and you're on the sand.
The house
Beach Nest is brand new and stands right on the seafront at Son Serra de Marina. From almost every corner of the house you catch a glimpse of blue: the bay, the long curve of the beach, the mountains on the far side.
Two floors, two living rooms and two complete kitchens mean a family or two couples can spread out without getting in each other's way. Air conditioning, heating and underfloor heating make it as good in March as in August.
Up the stairs is a second living room with a big sofa and a fireplace, open to the second kitchen. Sliding glass doors lead onto the covered terrace: a long dining table and a sea-blue sofa where you can sit from sunrise to the last of the golden hour.
The master suite and a twin bedroom are on this floor too.

Emperor bed (200 × 220 cm) and an en-suite with bath and shower, all with sea views. You can shower looking at the bay.

The beach
Son Serra de Marina is a small, slow seaside village on the Bay of Alcúdia. Its beach runs for kilometres past dunes and pines, with no high-rises and no promenade. Mornings are for swimming; when the wind picks up in the afternoon, the windsurfers and kitesurfers come out.
In the villa
No TV, on purpose. There's a sound system, a fireplace and the sea instead.
Mid-stay cleaning on two-week stays. On request: private chef, pre-stocked fridge, wellness & spa treatments and housekeeping.
The area
Son Serra sits between Can Picafort and Colònia de Sant Pere, in the north-east of Mallorca. Behind the village are pine woods and farmland; along the coast, the S'Albufera wetlands, Alcúdia's old town and the walking trails of the Artà mountains are all within easy reach.
